About EasySTD

Making confidential STD testing simple and trustworthy

EasySTD is a free, independent directory. Our mission is to take the confusion and stigma out of getting tested — comparing private labs, at-home kits and free public clinics in one place so anyone can find the right option with confidence.

What we are

A comparison resource, not a clinic

EasySTD is an education and comparison resource for STD testing. We don't provide care ourselves — we make the options legible so you can choose the one that fits.

A free comparison directory
We gather private labs, at-home test kits and free or public clinics in one place so you can compare options on price, privacy, speed and coverage — without the marketing spin.
Independently researched
Every guide and review is built from official pricing pages, clinical guidance and primary public-health data, then fact-checked. We list the downsides, not just the wins.
Built for everyone testing
Whether you want results in a day, total privacy, or the lowest possible cost, we surface the route that fits — including the free and public options that pay us nothing.

And what EasySTD isn't

  • Not a clinic or lab. We don't run laboratories, employ clinicians, or perform any testing ourselves. We point you to the providers who do.
  • We never see your results. Testing, sample handling and results all happen between you and the provider you choose. EasySTD has no access to your results or medical records.
  • Not a substitute for care. Our guides are educational. They don't diagnose or treat anything — for medical advice, see a licensed clinician.

Independence

How we stay independent

EasySTD is free to use because we earn affiliate commissions from some of the partners we list, at no extra cost to you.

That relationship never changes a rating, a ranking, the cons we list, or which free and public options we show. Free clinics and public health departments pay us nothing — and they still appear alongside paid partners, ranked on the same merits.

Every affiliate link is disclosed, and our scoring is fixed before any commercial relationship is considered.

Who's behind EasySTD

Our editorial team & how we review

EasySTD is written and maintained by an in-house editorial team of health writers and researchers. We specialize in turning dense public-health data — CDC surveillance, Census demographics, clinical screening guidance — into testing guides anyone can act on. We have no lab to sell, which is exactly why we can list the free clinic next to the paid one and tell you the catch with both.

  1. 1

    Research from primary sources

We pull each location's clinics, prices and local STI data from official provider directories and public-health datasets — not from marketing pages.

  2. 2

    Verify every medical claim

What a test detects, when to retest, detection windows: each is checked against current CDC and clinical screening guidance before it publishes.

  3. 3

    Clinical review of medical guides

Our condition and treatment guides are reviewed by licensed clinicians for accuracy. Location pages are compiled and fact-checked by the editorial team against those same sources — they are not a personal clinical sign-off of all 110,000 pages, and we don't claim otherwise.

  4. 4

    Date it, then maintain it

Each page shows when it was last reviewed and is re-checked whenever the underlying guidance or data changes.

Reviewed by clinicians

Medical content — our condition, treatment and prevention guides — is reviewed by licensed clinicians before publication and re-checked when clinical guidance changes. They're the people who keep our medical claims honest.

Built for privacy

Confidentiality is the whole point. We prioritize options that keep testing off your insurance and out of your records, and we explain exactly how anonymous and private testing works.

How private testing works

Our principles

The values behind every page

Privacy first
We favor options that keep testing off your insurance and out of your records, and we explain exactly how confidentiality works for each route.
Accuracy over hype
Claims are checked against clinical guidance and dated. Where a price or fact can't be verified, we say so rather than guess.
Independence
Affiliate relationships never change a rating, a ranking, or which free and public options we show. Every paid link is disclosed.
Made for the reader
We surface the genuine downsides — fees, slow turnaround, data incidents — because the catches are what people actually need to know.
